Today, the AdHoc family is grieving the loss of a dear friend and justice warrior, Aasim Baheyadeen. He was one of the first of us, one of the founders of AdHoc, and we are honored to serve in his legacy.
He led chants as AdHoc shutdown drug houses back in the 80’s, was one of the tour leaders when President Bush, Sr. visited Kansas City specifically to see AdHoc, and he was instrumental in encouraging the police to work closely during marches to stop traffic and accompany those present.
Baheyadeen took the lead in forming partnerships with local organizations to bring Kansas City together during the anti-drug movement to make our communities safer. We are forever in his debt.
Our hearts go out to all his family and friends who are mourning his loss. You are not alone.
